Eyebrow and Forehead Lift

A brow lift or forehead lift corrects drooping brows that may come with age and improves the horizontal lines and furrows that you may see on your face that can make you look angry, sad or tired. This procedure will help restore a more youthful, refreshed look to the area above your eyes by removing or altering the muscles and tissues that cause the furrowing or drooping. Your eyebrows are raised, your forehead smoothed and frown lines removed by an incision, which is hidden just behind the hairline. Brow lift can be performed with an incision over the brow directly.

The best candidates for a brow lift or forehead lift are those people who have accumulated visible effects of aging and are normally between the ages of 40 to 60. A forehead lift can smooth the forehead, raise the upper eyelids, and minimize frown lines that come with aging. You may also be a candidate for a brow lift if you are under the age of 40 but have developed furrows or frown lines due to stress or muscle activity. Some people may have inherited conditions, such as low, heavy brow or furrowed lines above the nose and can achieve a more refreshed look with this procedure.

For a better understanding of how a forehead lift can change your appearance try this simple exercise: look into a mirror and place the palms of your hands at the outer edges of your eyes, above your eyebrows. Then, gently draw the skin up to raise the brow and the forehead area. This is approximately what a brow or forehead lift would do for you.
Wrinkles, creases and folds make our face to look older. Non-surgical modalities for correction of these aging changes consist of Laser resurfacing, Botox injection, and filler injection. Each of them has its own benefits and hazards. An oculoplastic surgeon should be consulted to choose a proper one in your case.
