I. Weekly Program

Oculoplastic surgery fellows will work under below schedule:

II. Subjects and a activities during fellowship training

A. Months 0 to 3

1. Attending in the clinic, para clinic and Oculoplastic theatre.
2. One or two days part time rotations in other related ophthalmology units.
3. Getting familiar to the rules in different sections at hospital.
4. Writing research proposals based on eye research center rules. The proposal(s) should be approved at the end of 3rd months of fellowship program.
5. Attending the teaching sessions as scheduled in the department.
6. Active participation in residents training.
7. Providing the first report at the end of 3rd month based on clinical activities and research projects.

B. Months 3 to 12

1. Visiting the patients in oculoplastic service including clinics and consultations.
2. Getting familiar with all fields of oculoplastic procedures (Orbit, Lacrimal System, Anophthalmic Socket and eyelid).
3. Collecting data and following the research proposals.
4. Attending in training programs of Eye department.
5. Active participation in training the residents in the field of eye plastic.
6. Giving speeches and lectures after coordinating with the educational superior of the eye department.
7. Presenting the log book every 3 months for the approval.
8. Performing simple oculoplastic procedures and participating in complicated procedures.
9. Being actively involved in different types of orbital imaging techniques and interpretations.

C. Months 12 to 18 or 24

1. Managing and making plans for patients.
2. Handling patients on his/her own.
3. Interacting with other related hospital sections and medical groups.
4. Gradually starting to handle complicated procedure.
5. Following and finalizing the research proposals.
6. Attending in training programs of Eye section.
7. Participating in training programs of residency.
8. Proposing suggestions to raise the quality of training system of Oculoplastic service.
9. Having active interaction with other oculoplastic units in Tehran and attending in joint meetings.
10. Attending in the final interview by presenting the log book, updated CV, and research reports at the end of months 18.
11. Duration of fellowship program is 18 to 24 months based on the interviews.
12. Final fellowships certificate will be issued after completion of the program.
